Last night my family and I went for a walk down at Lewisville park. Watching my son pick up snails and other creepy crawlies reminded me of why I loved hiking and walking so much when I was younger. I want to get back to doing these types of things more often. Walking though the forest, actually going up some minor hills (with no side effects on my heart, which was an added blessing), and then ending at a fun playground, playing with the kids was something amazing. I really hope to do these types of things more often as a family. The main thing is, I need to get over my fear that any hill would set off my pacemaker (the fear is due to having my pacemaker go off while hiking a hill with my buddies). As I have found out twice now (first time being during a 5k walk I did which I will write about later) I am able to handle some hills and should not let those get in my way of a fun hike or walk. It becomes all about mind over matter.
Be sure to follow me on my facebook page, and I am also on twitter @ Adamscutthecrap. If you have questions or suggestions, I am usually able to respond pretty quickly through the above mentioned. When I have more time I hope to talk more about my 5k that I did and what I feel has kept me down these past 3 years. Thank you for reading.
