Breaking it down I had about 3 helpings of food. Looking deeper into what I had, I realized that these were good ole prepared Costco brand meatballs. I also realized that I had anywhere between 15 and 20 of these. Yes they taste good but oh man are they not good at all for you. I probably had almost 1000 calories from those alone, not including any desserts or rice.
With that on my mind, I looked back to just about every family get-together that we have or get-together with friends. It seems like each time I overeat. When we have barbecues I will have likely a hot dog or two with at least one hamburger. I will eat to the point of being overly full and even then might sneak one or two more things before the night is over. So that night my wife and I sat down and thought about what I could do differently. With that, we also came up with a great idea for the blog that will help me not only write more, but become more accountable. So with that said; I have made a goal.
Tomorrow is Father's Day. There will be another get-together and we will be doing a barbecue at our house. Kate helped me come up with this goal for tomorrow. First part of the goal is right before eating dinner, drink two glasses full of water. The second part of the goal is to limit myself to just one hot-dog, one hamburger, and a small portion of potato salad. The kicker is that instead of using buns for the meat, I am going to use romaine lettuce.
So happy Father's Day to all those Fathers out there! I will be back in a few days to see just how things went and to create another goal.
